# Software engineering help, from one person who ships.

I design and build iOS and macOS apps, backends and command-line tools, and I review work that already exists. You talk to me, and I do the work.

## Where I can help

- **iOS and macOS apps in Swift and SwiftUI** Greenfield apps or new features, across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. I have shipped apps with widgets, HealthKit, CloudKit sync, subscriptions and watchOS companions.
- **Backends with NestJS and Postgres** APIs, authentication, webhooks and background jobs for your app, with Postgres on Supabase or another host you choose.
- **Command-line and terminal tools** Fast, keyboard-driven tools, from small CLIs using Rust to full TUI apps with Ratatui. See [Perch, Tickit, Feedo and Hazelnut](https://ricardodantas.me/projects.md#terminal-tools) for examples.
- **App Store launch** Getting a finished app through review and out the door: metadata, screenshots, in-app purchases, subscriptions with RevenueCat, crash reporting and analytics. I treat the store page as part of the product.
- **AI features in apps** Adding summarisation, transcription, tagging or search to an app, using Apple's frameworks or a hosted model, whichever fits. I will tell you plainly what each option can and cannot do.
- **Technical audits** A fixed-length review of your codebase, architecture or release process, with a written list of what to fix first and why.

## Engagement models and rates

- **Fixed-scope project** (Rate on request): We agree scope, deliverables and a price before I start. Best when the requirements are clear.
- **Day rate** (Rate on request): I work by the day on whatever matters most. Best for exploratory work or short, flexible help.
- **Monthly retainer** (Rate on request): A set number of days each month, for ongoing work. Best for products that need steady attention.
- **Technical audit** (Rate on request): Fixed duration, written report.

## How we'd work together

1. **You email me** A few lines on what you need is enough.
2. **We talk** A short call to understand the problem and decide whether I am the right person. If I am not, I will say so.
3. **I send a proposal** Scope, timeline, how we work together and the price.
4. **We build** I share progress regularly, you see working software early, and we adjust as we learn.
